One Year of Amazon Luna

Published Oct 23, 2026

No console, no downloads, no extra cost. Luna has made playing games free for Prime members worldwide.

“A year ago, we imagined a world where great games were available to everyone, with no console required and no barriers to the fun,” said Jeff Gattis, GM of Gaming at Amazon. “Since relaunching Amazon Luna, we’ve grown our user base fivefold, launched exciting new content on the platform and brought play directly into the Prime Video app on Fire TVs. We’re building a future where games live alongside the shows, movies and sports people love, and this first year is only the beginning.”

With hardware prices climbing and the cost of individual games adding up, Luna offers players a different approach with no need for dedicated consoles or a high-end gaming rig. Instead, players can use devices they already own, including their TV and phone, to explore and access an ever-growing library of gaming experiences for every interest and skill level.

In the last 12 months, Luna has curated the ever-evolving library of available games, today spanning more than 80 titles, including major AAA blockbusters, indie favorites, retro classics, and casual experiences with GameNight.

Best of all, Luna is included with Prime membership, making gaming accessible to Prime members worldwide at no additional cost.

Blockbuster Worlds, No Console Required

Earlier this month, Luna celebrated a milestone with its first-ever day-and-date launch of STAR WARS: Galactic Racer, released alongside other platforms. The launch represented a step in making major games accessible on day one without a need for a dedicated console or high-end gaming PC, and included at no additional cost to Prime members.

In addition, the library has grown to include major titles such as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Star Wars Outlaws, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, BAFTA-winning Dispatch and more.

Sports has also become an increasingly important part of the Luna experience, connecting the games people play with the events they watch. This past summer, fans could watch World Cup matches on Prime Video and then keep the excitement going with EA SPORTS FC 26 on Luna. And in the months ahead, more sports experiences are coming to Luna, giving fans new ways to enjoy their favorite sports on Prime Video and then put the games in their hands.

Luna Expands to Prime Video, Bringing Games into the Broader Entertainment Experience

In July, Amazon brought Luna into the Prime Video app on Fire TVs in the United States and United Kingdom, right alongside the shows, movies and sports that members already enjoy, allowing fans to move seamlessly from watching to playing.

The connection opens up new ways to go deeper into favorite franchises. Prime Members can now watch Masters of the Universe, exclusively on Prime Video, and then step into the world of Eternia in Masters of the Universe: Legends Unite. Similarly, fans of the animated series Batman: Caped Crusader can follow up an episode by exploring Gotham and solving crimes in Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles on Luna.

Recently, the experience was expanded to Canada, France, Italy and Spain, with Austria, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and Sweden arriving in November.

GameNight: From Launch to a Growing Category

GameNight, a growing collection of fun, social, approachable games to be enjoyed with others or solo, was one of the signature introductions when Luna relaunched.

At launch, GameNight featured more than 25 games spanning trivia, word games, racing, board games, and party experiences. Getting started is simple. Scan a QR code on the television, use your phone as the controller, and anyone, regardless of experience, can join the fun in moments.

Since then, the collection has grown substantially, pairing familiar favorites with original games developed exclusively for Luna. Recent additions include The Game of LIFE 2, It's Quiz Time: Guinness World Records Edition, Cranium Planet and King of Tokyo. These titles sit alongside Luna exclusives, including Courtroom Chaos: Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Space Metal Mania, and Bowling Mayhem, among many others.

GameNight has also moved beyond the living room. With Remote Play, friends and family can now join multiplayer sessions online. The feature keeps the original phone-and-TV play style while removing the need for everyone to be in the same room.

With a deeper library and new ways to play, GameNight has evolved from a launch feature into a distinctive part of the Luna experience.

Testing A New Format with Courtroom Chaos

This past year, Courtroom Chaos: Starring Snoop Dogg launched alongside the new Luna, featuring an AI-powered celebrity judge who reacted to players' arguments in real time, so no two trials play out the same way. A second edition followed, with Arnold Schwarzenegger taking the bench and delivering verdicts with his signature larger-than-life flair.

Behind the scenes, Amazon uses AI to experiment and prototype, unlocking game ideas and mechanics that simply weren't possible a few years ago. What began with Courtroom Chaos is now extending to other Luna games, and players can expect more fresh ideas in the year ahead.

The Next Chapter for Luna

One year after its unveiling, Amazon Luna has grown from a redesigned gaming service into a broader entertainment hub, and the best way for Prime members to discover, experience and share gameplay.

Looking ahead, Luna will continue expanding within Prime Video and onto more devices, with new games and experiences, giving members more reasons to play. Following the launch of STAR WARS: Galactic Racer, Amazon also plans to bring more major games to Prime members through day-and-date releases.

Year one built the foundation. The next chapter is already underway.
